1948 Austin Dorset Gasser Description

This is a 1948 Austin Devon Gasser my Dad built in the mid 60's for Lions Drag Strip. Around 1968 he moved on to another car and this one was parked in a barn in Fountain ValleyCa. After 45 years in storage I took it homein January of 2015.Some time in the 90'soriginal Dodge 383 motor was taken out andwent into a friends project. I took this on as a side project trying to use up extra parts I had around the shop. The motor is aChevrolet Performance350HO Base 350ci/333HP with about 50k miles on it and about the same miles on the TH-350 transmission that came out of my old pick up. I tried to keep it as original as possible, therear end is out of a 1959 Chevy Station Wagon withHenry'saxles and 5:13 gears.Allthesuspensionwashome madeas you can see from the pictures. I rebuilt allthe wheelcylindersand installed a new master cylinder and brake lines so the breaks do work. Shehas a all steel body with the hood and front finders welded together, I did some minor body work and primed with urethane primer. The interior is a close to originalas possible from the 1952 seat belts, and wood floor. She has a aluminum radiator and electric fan, 2.5 gallon aluminum fuel tank new tires all the way around on old Crager rims, B&M transcooler and Hurst shifter to mane some of the parts. The front window is 1/4 Lexan PolyCarbonate. She has a clean title with current tags. She comes with fuel filler and cap, glass tail lights the original 1952 olds 4 speed Hydramatic trans and a dropped axle with spring and radius rods. She starts drives and stops but need a lot of work to be road worthy. I have to many other projects to finish this one andI need the space. Any question or if you would like to see more pictures just ask. Thank you
