1970 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 SCCA IMSA Race Car Description

****SCROLL WAY DOWN FOR TONS OF HIGH RES PICS,MAKE SURE YOU CAN SEE AL THE BRAKE PICS AND CHASSIS PICS, IF YOU DONT REFRESH THE PAGE AND GIVE TIME TO LOAD, THERE ARE ABOUT 100 PICS TOTAL, IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS MESSAGE ME AND I CAN SEND A LINK TO THE ALBUM******This is a 1970 Corvette vintage road race car. It was raced in the 70's and 80's on the east coast and was believed to either be called "The Pirate" or driven by a guy they called "The Pirate" I wish I had more to go on but that's all I have. It has evidence of the windshield frame being cut off down low like most roadsters of the era (it was welded back on at some point) the car looks to have been gold metal flake and blue from what I can see under the decklid and in other spots. This car is equipped with the J56 HD 4 pin brakes both front and rear, it has the front caliper stiffeners, it also has the HD rear suspension and 7 leaf rear spring. It is possible that this was one of the 25 ZR1 equipped cars built in 1970 but sadly there is no way to prove much of anything at this point so take it with a grain of salt. Very little of the original car remains, the entire frame seam has been welded, most bolts are safety wired, very quick ratio steering, awesome period correct magnesium wheels. The slick on the left rear is wider than the one on the right rear. Nice racing front sway bar setup, fuel cell in rear, dual Holley pumps and filters, someone started cutting the roll cage out, no idea why they would do that, but I have most of the pieces they cut so it can be mostly pieced back together. In some pics i propped the pieces back in position to show where they would go. It has a gold metal dash with a full set of vintage gauges and Indy 500 steering wheel. The nose is removable 1 piece and is not fully seated in the pics. The body has cracks all around and will obv need to be restored. The frame is in excellent shape with no rot issues anywhere, it was all painted battleship gray and has mostly held up. The car also has a cool license plate I believe to be from Baldwin Motion Chevy. There is no vin tag since the frame was cutoff years ago but the vin on the frame can be easily rear so a repo tag could easily be made if desired. It will be sold with a bill of sale only however I POSSIBLY could have the car registered if desired for an extra fee. This is a very cool car and it deserves to be put to good use, the chassis has lots of life left in it and could be either returned to the track or put back on the street. No reserve, FULL PAYMENT due within 3 days and car should be picked up within a couple weeks. Please ask questions in advance, and anyone with less than 5 feedback contact me before bidding of your bids will cancelled.
