1946 Chevrolet Other Pickups Description

This a very complete 1946 Chevrolet long bed pick up with minimal rust and a Universal dump system installed. It is offered as is where is with no warranty. The title has been lost and the truck will be sold with a bill of sale only. It is a North Dakota truck originally that has been sitting in Minnesota for the last 40 years. Actual mileage is unknown. Front to back: The front chrome bumper is slightly bent. The starting crank support is still attached to the bumper but is bent. The starting crank is included. Left front fender is dented in front but is rust free. Right front fender has a tear that was poorly welded but is rust free. Grille is in good shape but will need to be re-chromed. The right headlight fairing is good and topped with a light. There is some dents in the chrome ring. The left headlight fairing has a chrome attachment on top and no light. The hood halves have been separated at the hinge and the left is bent. The radiator looks good. The inner fenders are good. The engine slash shields are present and look good. The engine is complete but is seized. The oil bath air cleaner has some rust through. The firewall is in good shape. The window frame has not been disassembled but appears solid on external inspection. The window regulator is in place but we are not sure of its condition. The cab is in fair condition. There is rust through in the area to the right of the windshield wiper motor where a rear view mirror would attach. A rubber floor mat caused the metal floor insert panel to largely disintegrate. The battery tray access cover was out and survived. There is also rust through in the area of the forward cab mounts. The dash and instruments are unmolested and there is a key in the ignition. The bottom bench seat does not appear to be the original but the top half is present. The gas tank looks great and the area behind the seat is rust free. One cab corner does have slight exterior bubbling. The rims and hubcaps are all original. The spare is also included but is not pictured. The left door has external damage and some rust through on the bottom of the door and the front lower corner. The right door looks good externally but would not open so we could not get a look at the bottom. The truck has a Universal dump system that is powered by a power take off. The frame is solid but 2 rear cross members were cut out to install the dump system. The welding to install the dump system is less than elegant. The bed is in great shape. The tail gate is missing however. There are no dings or rust in the side panels. The wood is gone and there is some rust in the metal work used to attach the wood to the bed. The left rear fender is in good shape but has some welding where the fender would normally attach to the running board. The right rear fender has some metal cut off where it would normally attach to the running board. The left running board is in good shape but there is some rust through in about the middle with a couple holes about the size of a pencil eraser. The right running board is slightly dented. I am selling this truck for my father in law. It is located in Litchfield, Minnesota, about 70 miles west of Minneapolis. If you would like additional photos or to view the vehicle please contact me.
