Here is the only flaw I see in the paint. Close up, I'm sure it can berepaired. Window scrapers needs to be replaced. I took this car in as a partial trade. I am a very picky Porsche guy but don't know much about Z's. Here's what I was told. The previous owner owned a custom body shop and this was to be his personal car. He storked the motor, installed a 5 speed, painted the engine block and transmission with the same blue paint as the body, (shouldclean up nicely). This was a three owner, Southern California car with no rust or accidents. It still has the original Blue plates. I have the clean Calif. title in hand.
Here's what I do know, The only reason I took this car in was because the body and paint were freshly done by a professional. The quality of the work is top notch show quality. When you run your fingers over the two tone paint, you don't feel a bump. This car is buried in clear coat and is awesome. I was told the body was almost perfect prior to paint and the paint cost $9,500. They wrappedthe interior in black leather and suede. The headliner is black suede. The dash was also professionallywrapped in matching black leather. They left the diamond pattern vinyl in the rear and over the transmission tunnel. This stunning car is sitting on freshly finished1976 280Z rims with brand new BFGoodrichtires. We had the triple Webers professionallyrebuilt and installed an aftermarket fuel pump. The front windshield is new, all the other glass is in excellentcondition and was tinted. The tint is the film type so it can be removed if you prefer. There is a small box of extra parts that are included in this sale (see photos) and two perfect new, never installed clear headlight covers.
The dash Id plate and stamped firewall is HLS30-17361, the plate on the driver B-pillar is missing. The rear hatch door has been replaced as it does not have the two vents and if you look deep inside you can see that it was originally painted green so it does not match the original peanut butter brown color this car was. There are no storage compartments behind the seats, there are two 240Z badges but only one has been installed on the C pillar, the other badge comes with the car but you will have to re-open the mounting holes if you want it re-instal it. Hopefully this will make the car more collectable and valuable to the new owner.
I have personally driven it around the block. It's scary fast!! but does need finishing.
Here's what it needs. The rear hatch gas shocks are missing. The rear deck needs carpet, the plastic inside quarter panels need to be finished.Thepanel that goes over the interior lights(missing)The original front and rear bumpers are included but need to be rechromed. The front grill is missing. The left rear tail light is missing. There is one small scratch on the rear hatch (see photos)
Mechanically it's a beast!! But it will need the following:
Paint the undercarriage, I left it as is so you can see the great shape of the floors. New exhaust system, some suspension bushings and I would recommendgoing through the brakes just to make sure all is safe. The lights work but the light switch has been modified. I would just replace it. The engine bay could use a little detail.
With a little love this 240 will be a show winner and a blast to drive.I have included many photos, however if you need more or have any questions, feel free to call me. Also if you are in the Los Angeles area and would like to come by for an inspection and test drive simply call and we can work out a time. Please note that although this car is drivable, it should be towed home. It still needs work to be safe and reliable.
I will accept a reasonable offer so let me know. Thanks for looking and please let me know if I can answer any questions.
