This is a normal production, North American Market, (USA) GTS that was to be completed in June of 1973 but due to a strike and the Summer Italian Holiday in August it was not finished and shipped to the States until November that same year.
The original completion color was "Rosso Rubino Metallizzato" color code, 106-R-83 which translates to Ruby-Red Metallic. Theinterior was "BEIGE VM3218" or tan and it was fitted with Daytona style, black seat inserts. Additional options included powerwindows and air conditioning.
The original owner owner who purchased it new in Los Angles is not know at this time. He retained this Dino until 1980. In1980 it was acquired by Los Angeles based collector Ira Jay Boren. At his time of purchase the car showed 21,200 miles. Hekept the car until 1986 when it was purchased by Claremont, California collector, Gene Zettle with 29,000 miles. During hisownership the car was stripped and repainted to the current fly yellow and an all new dark gray and black interior fitted aswell as having optional wider Campagnolo light alloy wheels fitted. In 1996, now showing 34,000 miles, the car was sold to aprivate museum collection in Japan from where it was purchased in January 2013 by our company with 43,163 miles showingon the odometer. It was sold to a local Southern California Collector who carefully and meticulously serviced this vehicle without consideration for time or expense but sadly rarely drove this lovely Dino. It was recently traded back to us when he purchased a Porsche 959.
All services and safety checks are completely current and up to date.
