1971 Ford Bronco Wagon Description

tldr: great chassis, rust-free restored body, interior partially finished, 70k invested in this frame-off restomod. My life has changed since I started the project and now it sits in the garage all year except for thefew times I get to take it out in the mountains. I haven't had it detailed, it comes with some mud on it - I just don't have time to dress up the bride here folks. Most of the work has been done within the last five years, with some bits done in the last two years.

The rig:
This was a true frame-off (pics available). The chassis/running gear has been completely restored; almost everything is new except the frame (which was restored and checked for true) and D44 housing/knuckles. The body was removed and professionally restored - front fenders, inner fenders, floor plans, front two floor supports, front door posts, rockers, hood, tailgate were all replaced. After body restoration, the underside was coated in POR-15 and the rest of the rig was professionally painted in hot ginger metallic.
Engine: <3000 miles on a 302 roller crate engine from Engine Factory. Dyno'd by engine builder at 325 hp & ~275 ft-lb torque. Edelbrock intake/carb and comes with a re-jetting/tuning kit from Edelbrock. Ceramic coated long tube headers. Pertronix electronic ignition. Chrome serpentine belt setup. All engine accessories (alternator, PS pump, starter, etc) are new. Aluminum radiator with new overflow tank and custom twin electric fans, all new hoses of course.
Drivetrain: RAT 3 spd (stock, rebuilt professionally), twin-sticked transfer case (stock, rebuilt professionally), new centerforce clutch, new Woody driveshafts.
Suspension: WildHorses 3.5" HD suspension lift. If you are looking at this ad you probably already know coils up front leafs in the rear. Heavy duty u-bolts used in rear, new chrome cups and hardware in the front. Shocks are stock mounts with WildHorses shocks. Radius arms are stock with new C-bushings and drop brackets; caster is good. New trac bar and trac bar riser to keep those steering angles kosher and avoid bump steer.
Tires/Wheels: 35" Goodyear Duratrac all around, put on last year. New steel wheels.
Axles:
-Front D44 with stock knuckles and housing. 31 spline chromoly axles and new u-joints all around. 4.56 gears with a Detroit TrueTrac limited-slip. Brakes upgraded to power disk brakes. Hubs replaced. Pinion angle is adequate for current travel range, but if you are going for more flex, a knuckle rotation would be in order.
-Rear axle is a Ford 9" custom built by Currie. 31 spline chromoly axles, 4.56 gears, Detroit TrueTrac limited-slip, drum brakes. Pinion angle is perfect as I had the leaf mounts built to specifications for the lift. E-brake is a custom hand brake using cables to the rear drums.
Body: body was removed, soda blasted, and then professionally restored/painted. It's not a show paint job, but it is pretty darn good excepting a few small scratches and chips. Much of the front end sheet metal was professionally replaced, including hood, inner/outer fenders, door posts, front floor plans, floor support channels, inner/outer rockers. The body is truly rust free. The doors work/fit well, but are not show perfect - gaps aren't bad but one of the doors is a little twisted (passenger side, the top fits flush but the bottom rear is just a little off). The hood has a little damage, but should be cheap to fix - worst case scenario is you replace it and repaint it. All the body rubber has been replaced. Wipers are stock electric setup with new blades. Comes with both a restored hardtop (same body man/paint as body, all glass is in great shape), a full coverage bestop bikini top with all hardware, and a lockable waterproof/breathable storage cover.
Comes with a quart of paint that matches the hot ginger metallic so you have the exact paint code if you ever need it or want to do touch ups. Interior has a full family cage from Wild Horses. Hi-lift jack custom mounted to the roll bar. Fancy chrome fire extinguisher mounted to the roll-bar.
Interior: the interior is partially finished. There is a new custom gauge (temp, oil, volt, vac, fuel, etc) setup (new gauges/senders and a custom mounting panel) and the stock dash was in fine shape, but to make it pretty you'd want to do some more work on it. Carpet kit, firewall pad, and front carpet padding and full tub carpethas been installed. The seats are stock seats that were fully restored (broken down, blasted, repainted, R&R'd, new foam, new seat covers, old seat hardware was R&R'd with the exception of the sliders, which are brand new. Two tuffy lockable storage boxes - one under the passenger seat, and one console (the big lockable box). Speedo was R&R'd and a new speedo cable installed (still needs some speedo gear tweaking, speedo is off a little bit with the big tires). New shoulder seat belts. Two baile built tool trays (line-x coated on the inside) up against the interior rear quarter panels.
Fuel system: new lines, new aux tank/sender, R&R'd main tank with new sender, new tank selector switch.
Brake/steering system: hydroboost system installed torun the power brakes andpower steering. All new components, all new lines. New HD steering box, shaft, wheel, etc, etc, etc.
Frame: during the frame-off, the frame was sandblasted, checked for true, and painted with POR-15.
Wiring: new painless wiring harness installed. Ridiculous upgradeability. Rig will come with the original painless box, instructions, and extra sub-harnesses I didn't use.
Recovery: winch and ARB recovery kit. Winch was new when installed, I think it is a Smitty XRC-8 with ?12k lb? rating. If it is important I can get the exact model for you. Braided steel cable line.
Bumpers: BEEFY custom bumpers front and rear. Front includes 2 D-rings, hi-lift jacking points. Rear includes swing-out racks: cooler/gas can rack & spare tire mount. Rear also has the high lift jacking points and a receiver hitch built in. Rig comes with a drop stinger so when you tow the ass of your trailer isn't scraping the ground.
Other: I have a bunch of parts from the resto that come with the sale of this rig (if you don't want 'em I'm going to donate). Too many to list, but it includes air filters, fans, coils, the old/originalD44 axles (which someone told me were valuable, I don't know about that). Probably three full large storage tubs full of left over shit that I've been holding onto for I-don't-know-what reason.
I probably forgot some items when doing this write-up. Short story is this rig is mechanically fantastic but the interior is unfinished. My life has changed and instead of being able to take it out in the mountains, it sits in the garage, so it is time for it to go to a new home.
This would be a fantastic platform to build one of those $60k+ rigs. A little bit of fit and finish, redo the paint job to a show paint job, maybe put one of those EFI kits on it, some interior upgrades and you are there. A lot of Broncos being sold these days are justmaking the body look nice with a quick paint over and some bling inside.I dropped $15k+ in body work on this thing - it isn't rust patched with bondo, it is all new steel, professionally done.
