1961 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Cabriolet Description

Car collector providing a rare opportunity to own a timeless Volkswagen Cabriolet Classic, that was hand-crafted by Karmann (see badge on right side). This very clean beautiful car that our family calls "Emily" represents VW at its finest and is ideal for a person who wants to own a classic car that is ready to drive. These cabriolets are getting rarer as time goes by and this one is a trophy winner (trophy available) and gets lots of attention wherever driven. It comes with an owner's manual, tool kit, wheel trim rings, luggage rack, car cover, newer lap belts and other extras (original lap belts also available). The interior is completely original and is free of rips, tears or discoloration (some seat stitching starting to come loose). The original 6v Bendix radio is included but not connected. The body is in good condition and the paint is mostly original. As with many pre '62's, hood has a small crack along the edge on the drivers side. All chrome is mostly original and complete. It has minimal rust for a convertible of this vintage. However, some rust is in evidence at bottom of rail reinforcements and under battery (repaired previously). Convertible top is in excellent condition with no headliner. The white convertible boot is like new. The speedometer works but the odometer doesn't. The whitewall tires have nearly full tread. The vehicle was converted to a 12v system and has a strong 1600cc engine. Duffy's Collectible Classic Cars performed many mechanics including installation of new equipment such as clutch, flywheel, starter, etc. (many receipts included from previous and current owners). Car always stored winters from Nov. to April and only driven in good weather. It is suggested that interested buyers view the car in person to verify nice condition. Thanks and Happy bidding!
