1966 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

Up for sale is a 1966 VW Beetle, with a 1967 1500 engine. My son and I have spent the last two and half years on this restoration. We started the process by removing the body off the chassis, then taking the body to a body shop. The body shop repaired the minimum rust, straightened, primed, painted and applied clear to the body. We had the chassis sand blasted top and bottom. After getting back the chassis, we applied two coats of POR-15 rust inhibitor to both the top and bottom. We then covered the interior of the chassis with dynamat for sound deadening purposes. We completely went through the brakes and suspension and replaced the following parts:
Upgraded to a dual master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake lines, brake pads. Replaced tie rod ends and shocks.
The complete interior was professionally installed by Style craft Upholstering in Wichita Kansas.
The engine was stripped down to the heads and then painted. We replaced the following parts:
Fuel pump, distributor, coil, plugs, wires, starter, voltage regulator, battery and cables, and had the generator rebuilt.
All four tires and spare are new. Wheels have been sand blasted and repainted to white and body matching blue. All body, doors, windows, front and rear hood seals have been replaced. New running boards and door seal plates have been installed. We spared no expense by installing Wolfsburg West front and rear bumpers, with a cost of $1000.
The six volt system was retained with new wiring harness, bulbs and a new AM FM radio with auxiliary input. All electrical components including wipers, lights, turn signals, emergency light, tag light and horn are in working condition. I have invested including body work, paint, interior installation, tires and parts over $18,000. This does not include over three thousand hours my son and I have put into this restoration.
